About this venue
Bishop Julius Hall was established in 1917 for female students attending university and teachers college by the then Bishop of Christchurch, Churchill Julius, hence the name. It was originally sited in the city and moved to Ilam in 1974 where the first users were the 1974 Commonwealth Games participants.
Our venue is set in a park like setting with 50 car parks plus street parking for many more, three possible venues for your wedding breakfast or reception depending on numbers and budget.
It is available between Show Weekend and mid February when our 170 students are away for their summer vacation.
Our Executive Chef will design a menu to met your needs and budget.
We provide all linen, cutlery, crockery and can hire glasses and any other requirement.
