About this venue
Opawa Community Church is situated alongside the Heathcote River on Aynsley Terrace. The riverbank with its large trees creates a beautiful backdrop for any function you may wish to plan at this venue. It is perfect for weddings. Watching the setting sun from the large north facing entrance foyer and veranda is an extra bonus. Our tranquil, garden provides an additional space for celebratory drinks and nibbles during the summer months.
We have retained the traditional church architecture and combined it with a spacious foyer and a large modern Hall. The kitchen is fitted with a commercial gas range with six elements as well as two electric ovens, a sterilizer, rinsing sinks etc.
There are 33 off street cars parks, easy access for the disabled and provision for the hard of hearing. . Modern data technology involving audio and video screens are linked throughout.
